The 2026 Global Yoga Teacher Pay Survey

Yoga teachers talk about pay privately all the time. They compare studio rates after class, try to understand what is normal in a new city, and quietly work out whether teaching can remain sustainable alongside the admin, travel, preparation, and care that surrounds each session.

We are collecting anonymous responses for the 2026 Global Yoga Teacher Pay Survey so we can share a clearer picture of what teachers are actually being paid across different places and teaching contexts.

What we are asking

The survey asks where you teach, how you are usually paid, how long the class is, what rate range you receive, and how much unpaid work sits around the class. There is also space to add context if the numbers do not tell the whole story.

The questions are designed to be quick, but useful. Country alone is not enough. A 60 minute studio class in London is not the same as a 90 minute private session in Chiang Mai, and a flat rate is different from revenue share or a per-head model.

Why this matters

Transparent information helps teachers make better decisions. It can help someone set their own rates, understand whether a studio offer is fair, or notice when unpaid preparation and travel are quietly making teaching unsustainable.

It also helps the wider industry have a more honest conversation. Yoga teaching is skilled work. The economics around that work should be easier to see.

How responses are used

Responses are anonymous. If you add your email, it is stored separately and only used to let you know when the report is complete.

We will use the responses to publish a regional pay report for yoga teachers in 2026. The goal is not to rank teachers, studios, or countries. The goal is to give teachers better information about the work they are already doing.
